Five Flaming Hotties (part 2)

Welcome back to the second part of this tag, where this time I will be focussing on Five Hotties from the world of anime. In case you missed the first part, you can find it right here . The first two paragraphs below are exactly the same as the ones I wrote for part 1, but I thought it only fair to include them here as well. Feel free to skip over them in case you have already read those.

The Tags

The first tag I received from Vinnieh who is just an amazing guy. He actually runs two blogs (seriously where do you find the time for it 😂) one about movies and one that is a bit on the naughty side, lol. He is a terrific writer, with a knowledge about movies that I am often amazed at. But he is also a really kind person, who always responds to your comments in amazing ways. It has really been a blast following along with his blog and exchanging comments with him. So Vinnieh my friend, thanks for tagging me for this one.

The second tag I recieved from The Otaku Judge. You know how you sometimes want to slap yourself on the head for not discovering a blog sooner? This one of them. For almost two months now we have been exchanging thoughts over different kinds of things, ranging from anime to movies, and it has been a blast. Another person who has just been a joy to talk to, as well as becoming someone who always provides interesting and often funny comments to my posts. Hopefully this will continue for many more years. Something you very much as well.

Needless to say follow both of them, as if that hasn’t become clear yet 😂

The rules:

1. Mention the name of the blog you were tagged by, as well as the creators of this game Realweegiemidget Reviews and Thoughts All Sorts  to all blogs involved and including the picture above.

2. List five of your greatest hotties from TV and/or film, i.e. crushes/objects of your affection, including musicians or sports stars too.

3. Tell us how you were introduced to them and why you like them/what appeals.

4. Add some appealing pictures.

5. Tag seven bloggers for their Five Flaming Hotties.

6. Post the rules.

5. Lum

image

Most of you know that I am not a huge comedy fan, but of course there are always exceptions. Urusei Yatsura is such an exception. This anime is almost 40 years old now, but it still one of the funniest series that I have ever seen. At the centre of it all is Lum, the alien princess with her tiger striped bikini. I guess it’s become pretty clear why I had to include her on this list. A real beauty, but with a literally shocking personality. Don’t believe me? Go check her out, and you will find out why I said this.

4. Mikasa Ackerman

image

This one is probably not a huge surprise either. What is there not to like about her? Her beauty hides a killer instinct and she is more than capable of handling fights all by herself. I love powerful women, and Mikasa certainly is that. Deadly, beautiful and stunning, pretty much all three words are a fitting discription for this deadly Titan killer.

3. Makina Hoshimura

image

For someone who is supposed to be dead, she really looks amazing. Makina Hoshimura, or the Corpse Princess, is a girl who died but is brought back to life in order to fight evil undead creatures. Even though she is hauntingly beautiful, she is not someone who you would like to ask out on a date. I don’t think there is anyone who can handle twin uzis better than her. A very dangerous, but still stunning girl, with an exotic look.

2. Asuna Yuuki

image

To not include Asuna would definitely be going against my better judgement. Asuna, the deadly swordswoman from Sword Art Online has grown into one of my alltime favorite anime characters. Both very kind and beautiful, she is a woman who you should be glad to have on your side. Her kindness however, does not mean that she can’t be strong when she needs to be. A fact that she has demonstrated more than once throughout the course of this anime.

1. Motoko Kusanagi

image

My number one however will always be Motoko Kusanagi, or The Major, from Ghost in the Shell. My love for this character has started when I first saw her in the original Ghost in the Shell movie, and hasn’t been gone since. I love her struggle with her own humanity, and she is simply a knock-out to look at. Beautiful, sexy and very, very deadly she is a one woman army. Never mess with The Major, as she will make you regret it for sure.

My nominations

Just like in part 1, I can only nominate 7 people for this tag, but once again I have chosen four female bloggers and three male bloggers. As I said over in part one, don’t feel any pressure in doing this tag, so either feel free to make a post for this one, or not. Either way I think you are all awesome anyway!

Five Flaming Hotties (part 1)

If there is one thing that I find amazing about running my blog it is getting nominated for awards or particular tags. It is always an honor, but I must also admit that I am really, really running behind on writing these. So first I want to offer my apologies to everyone who has ever nominated me for an award or tagged me in some way, and I haven’t done a post for yet. Don’t think I don’t appreciate it, it is just simply me being lazy not having had enough time to post one yet. That said, I am going to try and put a dent in the backlog of these over the coming weeks, and to kick things off I am going to start with the Five Flaming Hotties tag. I actually got nominated for this one twice, but that offered me a unique opportunity as well. I’m going to be doing this one in two posts, one featuring Five Hotties from the world of movie and television, and the other one from Anime.

5. Morena Baccarin

image

I was first introduced to the beautiful Morena Baccarin in the tv series Firefly. This shortlived and sadly cancelled tv series  was a unique blend of Western abd Science Fiction. Morena has since then grown into a well known figure in many tv series including Homeland, the re-imagined V and Gotham. Her natural charm and charisma make her an absolute stunning woman, especially when she puts on her wonderful smile. So to not include her on this list would be a sin.

4. Alanna Masterson

image

This actress is probably not recognised by many of you, unless, like me you are a massive Walking Dead fan. Alanna plays the role of the wonderful Tara. When we first meet her, she is actually on the side of the evil Governor. Luckily she soon recognised her mistake and joins Rick’s group. She has become a series regular, and she certainly is one of my favorite characters. A true natural beauty.

3. Haley Atwell

image

This British actress most of you will probably recognise as Agent Carter from Captain America. I had seen her in other shows and movies as well however, but really started noticing her in the television series that was made for the beloved Marvel Character. She is quite charming, but also a very strong woman, that can definitely hold her own.

2. Eliza Dushku

image

If there is one woman that redefines the words Flaming Hottie, it is Eliza Dushku. I had a major crush on her when she starred as the Dark Slayer Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She has made numerous other appearances in such tv shows as Dollhouse, Angel and Banshee, but has never really broken through with her career. A true shame as she is a wonderful actress, with a stunning beauty.

1. Summer Glau

image

My number one though has got to be Summer Glau. Also someone that I have been following since Firefly she is absolutely incredible in every sense of the word. Sadly though, she had appeared in so many tv series that got cancelled that people have started to think she is cursed. My favorite role from her has got to be in The Sarah Connor Chronicles, where she played the part of Cameron, the Terminator that was assigned to protect John. A bad ass role, that really suited her.

My nominations

This is always the difficult part, I can only choose 7 people to tag for this, but luckily, since I got nominated twice I can do this two times. Before this becomes a thing only guys can do, I have chosen four female bloggers, and three males. In no way should you feel any obligation to do this one though, so feel free to write a post for it or not: no pressure! So here they are in no particular order:

The Versatile Blogger Award

Before I start this post, I want to apologise for taking so long to finally get around to this one. I always find it incredibly humbling to get an award for my blog, and I was actually nominated twice for this one.

The first nomination I received from Sophiethestark. Now if you have not yet seen her blog, or her many comments on other blogs, seriously where have you been all these months (just kidding ofcourse). Her blog is absolutely amazing though, and she has always been  very supportive of my own blog. Moreover she always has a kind word to say about posts you publish, and it truly amazes me that people spent their precious time doing that. So, if you are not yet following her blog, hit that subscribe button now. And ofcourse, thank you so much Sophie.

The second nomination I received from Alli who runs an amazing blog called Wormalblog. Now, the term Versatile pretty much falls short regarding her blog. She blogs about an enormous range of different topics, and she is a truly sweet and kind person to talk to. So I guess you know what to do, right? Just hit the link button and subscribe. I promise you won’t regret it. And ofcourse a big thank you for you as well Alli, for nominating me for this award. It really is awesome!

7 Things about me

Well, this is really getting to be a very difficult question to answer. Having received two awards where I already shared 7 things before, I am pretty much running out of things to say that you don’t already know. But let’s see if I can find some new things that are not too erm, boring I guess is the right word?

1. My favorite alltime science fiction movie is Aliens. (I am not counting Star Wars, because that is a franchise and in my opinion a whole league of it’s own lol). As for Aliens, I have seen that movie so many times, that I have pretty much lost count and almost know it by heart.

image

2. I am more happy staying at home, than going outside. Then again with the enormous amount of hobbies that I invest my time in, I am never bored. Well…..almost never.

3. I can at times be an impulse buyer. If I happen to see a movie or tv show, or even a cool advertisement for something, I can be very easily persuaded to buy stuff I don’t really need. Which pretty much explains the enormous backlog I have.

4. I can occasionally cry when I see a movie. Yes, I know I am a guy, but I am not ashamed to admit it. It does not happen very often though, mind you.

image

5. I really like handing out compliments. It is receiving compliments that is way harder to accept. I think that is a thing I will always continue to struggle with, and something I will never grow comfortable with.

6. There is one novel that I have read that literally kept me up at night, because I could not put it down (it was so good). That novel is called The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks. It was at 4 o’clock at night that I realised it had become very late indeed.

7. I have an irrational fear of wasps. As soon as there is one close to me, I turn into a screaming idiot, and try to run away as fast as I can (while avoiding stumbling over my own feet, furniture ot whatever else might be close by)

The honorable nominees

Just as it is getting harder to find seven new things about myself, it also getting hard to find people who have not yet been nominated for this award. That said, the following blogs definitely deserve it, so go check them out, if you are not already following them.

1. Soneawrites a fantastic blog that deals what Anime, movies, books, games, and all kinds of other cool stuff. The blog layout is seriously cool looking, and the posts are also very enjoyable to read.

2. Heyitszel a wonderful blog that deals with all things anime, but does it in so many original ways that variety does not even cover it properly. For instance one of her recent features deals with architecture in anime, which is very cool and original. And she is also a very kind person to talk to.

3. Renxkyoko’s space another very cool blog that deals with so many different subjects that it is almost impossible to cover them all. Simply hit the link and check it out for yourself. I’m pretty sure you will find it to your liking.

4. Artistbybeauty a blog that I have not been following for very long, but which has already made a very lasting impression on me. There are so many different subjects on her blog, that it is always a surprise what will be next. Ranging from tutorials on how to make paper flowers, book reviews, games, and all sorts of other things, variety is exactly the right description for this one.

And that as they say, is that. Thank you for reading and see you at the next post.

One Lovely Blog Award 2

Sometimes, just sometimes, real life catches up to you. For those of you that have been following my blog for a while now, you might have noticed that the past two weeks I have been a little bit less active than usual. I have checked in with everyone’s blog where I could, but the posts for my own blog were a bit slower than normal. My apologies for that, but the past two weeks my thoughts were a little bit pre-occupied with other things. Hence the beginning, sometimes real life catches up to you.

Now, I am running behind on a few things, most importantly a few of you gave my blog a reward. I always appreciate this very much, and over the coming weeks I will try to catch up on these as much as I can, starting today. First up is the “One Lovely Blog Award” that was given to me by D-talks Anime. Now if you have not yet signed up to their blog, than I want you to stop reading this, hit the link and subscribe. Don’t worry, I will wait….All done? Oh, you want a reason to sign up? Well how about the fantastic posts on anime that are being published on their blog? They are always a pleasure to read, and more over it is really cool (and always a lot of fun) to exchange thoughts with them. Don’t take my word for it, just head over there and be amazed. D, I would almost forget, thank you so very much for this nomination, I really appreciate it a lot 😀

Seven things about little old me…

This being the second time that I have been nominated for this award, it was actually a bit hard to find another seven things to share. But…I came up with a few things regardless.

One: My favorite alltime book character is Raistlin Majere from the Dragonlance Chronicles written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman (if you have yet to read these novels, track them down ASAP)

image

Two: My favorite food is any kind of Italian pasta.

Three: People have accused me of lying when I tell them that I don’t own a smartphone. This is no joke, I actually don’t own one, but I do have an IPad (see…I can be modern 😂😂)

Four: At times I have a real problem saying no to things. I always want to go out of my way to help people, but at times at the cost of myself. Oh well, I still would not want to have it any other way 😀

Five: My favorite horror serial killer is Jason Voorhees. Yes the friday the 13th movies are horrible, but in fact they are so horrible that I enjoy them so very, very much 😂😂

image

Six: I almost never get angry (no lie), but one thing that can really set me off is injustice. That is really a thing I can get angry over…(no I am not going to give an example in case I might get angry….and you would not like me when I get angry 😂)

Seven: I don’t drink alcohol. No not because I have any kind of morality issue with it, but simply because I don’t like the taste of the stuff. And I don’t need it to have fun at a party: You bring the fun with you right?

The nominees

Now this time, I am going to give the nominations to a few blogs that I have recently started to follow and have pretty much just started. Not only do I think that they deserve this nomination, but I also feel that they are really on their way to grow, but just need a little bit more spotlight. So…here we go:

Arsangeli Honestly, I almost can’t believe this blog so far only has nine people following it. (At least that’s what it says on the reader, so I could be wrong). There is some truly fantastic (anime style) art on display at this blog, and the amount of talent involved is simply amazing.

Hyoukablog  Anime reviews, amazing poems, this blog features it all. I think this blog is one of the more unique ones that I have started following, and I really like reading all those wonderful poems.

Brendarochelles Neverland Actually, this blogger isn’t new, she is in fact the first person I met when I started blogging. She used to have a different blog, but recently she has started up a new one, but still has way too less subscribers (At least in my opinion). Her blog features movie, anime,K-drama and book reviews which are a joy to read. Not only that, she is just one of the kindest persons you will meet, and it is always nice to talk to her about a review.

The comic vault One would almost not believe that this blog has started up just a few days ago, but it did. The blog looks seriously amazing and features very cool posts about all of your favorite superheroes. (And also the lesser known ones).

Just anime times This blog features a lot of reviews about my favorite genre of anime: Mecha Anime. The classics, but also the lesser known ones, the reviews are very insightful, and showcases animeseries that I haven’t even heard of before.

Palbableemotion what to say about this blog? How about a seriously cool blog, and a very kind person behind it all? I really like the style of the reviews that are posted (with pictures featuring the anime), and the posts themselves are awesome to read!

Toritsukamanga A really cool blog about the world of Manga and anime with a lot of great and fun posts. Even though I don’t read a lot of Manga, I still really enjoy reading the reviews on this blog.

Remyfool Okay, I admit it, I cheated a bit on this nomination, as this blog is not really new. Still, I have not been following this blog for very long, and we both came to the conclusion that we might have both been living under a rock for not noticing each other’s blog sooner lol. That said, this is another fantastic anime and manga blog, with a lot of fun and interesting posts to read.

So, that’s it for this post. As I have said I wanted to put a bit of spotlight on a few of the newer blogs out there, but in my opinion everyone that is taking the effort to start up a blog, or has been a veteran, pretty much deserves a reward. Blogging at times can be hard, but it is times like these, and interacting with all the wonderful people out there, that make it all worthwhile. See you next time! 😀

The Unique Blogger Award

Last week I was nominated for the second time for the Unique Blogger Award. Seriously people, I am pretty much getting stunned by all these awards. It is a really humbling experience, and as I am already a pretty shy guy, I am getting ever more shy by these awards 😂 Seriously though, I appreciate it very much. But first I want to thank D from Dtalksanime for nominating me for this award. If you like Anime and have not yet subscribed to D’s blog, than stop what you are doing, and subscribe now. His blog features fantastic and well written reviews and other fun things about the world of anime. And I do mean fun, because one of the things I really like is that often there is a great sense of humor written into the post, something I truly enjoy. All I can say is keep up the great and fantastic work you are doing with writing each post, and once again: thank you so very much 😀

The Rules

  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award
  • Ask them 3 questions

D’s QuestionS

1. If there’s a zombie Apocalypse, would you rather become a zombie during the first wave of infections or survive (to possibly be eaten by zombies) ?

Well this one is easy: survive to be possibly be eaten by zombies. That last thing ofcourse will never happen as I have my friends Rick, Daryl and Michone to protect me. (Hopefully I don’t have to explain who these bad ass people are 😂😂) And ofcourse I would become a living arsenal of weapons myself in order to not let them bite me 😂 (The zombies that is, not Rick, Daryl and Michone)

2. Five anime you plan to watch

My “to watch list” has actually turned itself into a “to watch book”, so it features an endless wave of animeseries, movies and normal television shows. But since we are talking about anime, here they are in no particular order: Psycho-Pass (already started on that one, and boy is it amazing), Terror in Resonance, Steins Gate, Yuri on Ice (I have seen every blog raving about that one, so even though it is not my usual cup of tea, I will give it a try) and finally Vision of Escaflowne (yes I know it is a classic and I have already kicked myself about a 100 times for still not having seen it)

3.Your least favorite and favorite time of the day

This one is also easy to answer: I don’t have a favorite or least favorite time of day. I don’t care what time it is, I always have enough stuff to do (be it work or relaxing). As such I am active throughout the entire day except while I am sleeping, because at that point I am, erm sleeping (Duh).

My nominations:

I have recently started following a few new blogs, which are all unique in their own special way. Some of these have just started, and some of these are veterans. Every one of them deserves this award though, and are well worth checking out.

My Questions:

With the end of the year coming ever closer, I thought to make up at least two questions that kind of reflect on the upcoming holiday season.

  1. It’s almost Christmas. What will you be doing on that day?
  2. What things are you looking forward to the most for the upcoming year?
  3. My “to watch book” is almost to much to manage. How do you keep track of things to watch, and how do you select the next thing to watch?

One Lovely Blog Award

Okay, people seriously this is getting to be too much. In a very good, but humbling way 😀 To my surprise and delight, I got nominated for yet another award this week: The One Lovely Blog Award. I am getting overwhelmed by all the positive feedback that is shown for my small blog. But I really appreciate it so much. A very big thank you goes out to Two Happy Cats for nominating me for this one. If you are one of the people who has still to discover this lovely blog (pun intended), you are in for a treat. It features a lot of great reviews about Anime and Manga, but there are also a lot of laughs.(For instance the recent post “4 Manga I’d rather die than read again”.). It really is a great blog, so what are you waiting for:subscribe if you haven’t already 😀

The Blogger Recognition Award: Special add-on

A couple of days ago I got nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award. You can read my post for it right here. Now I nominated in the tradition of this award (and ofcourse because they all deserved the nomination very much), another 15 bloggers. To my big surprise one of those nominees, nominated me back 😀 Now, I have been thinking a bit about how to handle this one, and that is why I came up with this special add-on. It would be a bit pointless to write the same post that I wrote two days ago (my advice hasn’t changed lol 😂), but what I do want to do is to thank the person who nominated me back, and put his blog in the spotlight a bit.

So here we go: thank you very much for nominating me back : Cainslatrani 😀 He has a very unique and diverse blog, featuring fantasy stories (he is a writer too, and a very good one judging from the posts he writes), Anime and features on Dungeons and Dragons. The posts he writes are filled with a lot of humor and always very interesting to read. So, if you haven’t yet, go and subscribe to his blog. You won’t regret it 😀

I realise this might be bending the rules of the award a bit, but when I get nominated for an award, I really appreciate it a lot. As such I wanted to write this short kind of add on post, as a thank you to Cainslatrani (and to let him know again that I have still no intentions of overthrowing the Gods 😂😂).

The Blogger Recognition Award

Today is monday, and it really is my least favorite day of the week (as I guess it is for most people). However the first thing I saw this morning, before heading off for work, was that I had been nominated for The Blogger Recognition Award. And just like that this monday just became an incredible day. Honestly it is really getting  hard to find the right words to say how much I am feeling honoured by getting this kind of recognition for my blog. My thanks go out to Sophiethestark who gave my this award. I really, really appreciate it. If you haven’t already, check out her incredibly awesome blog Blameitonchocolate, which covers a lot of things ranging from Anime to books, and even videogames. Once again my thanks, you are awesome 😀

image

The Rules

  • Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started
  • Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers
  • Select up to 15 other blogs you want to give the award to

The beginning

My blog started pretty much as an experiment. On my Facebook site, I used to post small reviews for movies I liked in Dutch. But at times I just got a bit annoyed at the whole Facebook environment. I did really like writing reviews however, and I started thinking about how I could continue to do that, but without Facebook. One day I came across a review for a movie, (honestly I can’t remember which movie it was anymore), and I saw the wordpress.com link on it.

After doing some research for it, I decided to give it a go. It took me some time to actually get it started as I am not actually a very technical kind of guy, but eventually I managed to create a site. I started almost half a year ago now, and honestly I have been having a blast. I had never expected to enjoy blogging this much, as it really has become a part of my daily routine.

Even though I don’t publish a post every day, I do check in every day, either to respond to comments, or read post from so many other great blogs I am currently following. Yes it takes time, but I consider it time well spent. One of the most fun things to date has been meeting all kinds of wonderfull people, and just sharing thoughts on all kinds of things. I don’t think I can ever give this up now, and I am definitely not planning to do so.

My advice for new bloggers

As mentioned above I have not been blogging yet for long so I would not in any way consider myself in a position to give advice in any way. Here are two things that I myself, think (emphasis on think), that might be important:

  • Cherish your followers. This might seem like a nobrainer, but I am still sometimes truly amazed that people take time to read my posts, and even at times post a response to them. Time is a very precious commodity, and as such I am just very appreciative every day, when I see likes or comments to posts that I wrote. So I guess this is also a big shoutout and thank you to everyone who has been following me so far. And that is what I meant by cherish your followers, never take it for granted, and always be respectful, even if someone might have a different view on something you wrote 😀
  • Write from the heart. When writing posts try to put something in it from yourself. This sounds a bit weird, but what I mean is try at times to make a post personal. It doesn’t mean that you should completely open up the floodgates and let every emotion that you have out (that might become messy lol), but still adding in something personal, can make a post somewhat more interesting (and a little humor at times, doesn’t hurt either😂)

Unique Blogger Award

I really can’t believe it, but I have been nominated for the Unique Blogger Award. I am really getting shy and humbled by getting yet another award for my blog☺️ First off I want to thank Karalee from Talesofbelle for nominating me for this award. Her blog deals with cosmetics and skincare, but also has very cool bookreviews, which I really enjoy reading. If you haven’t already, go and check out her awesome site. Karalee, thank you again 😀

The Questions

What are 3 items on your bucketlist?

Hmm, tough question, but here they are in no particular order:

  1. As some if you might already know I have a very high interest in everything Asian, so I definitely want to visit an Asian country one day. Preferably Japan or China, but pretty much any Asian country would do.
  2. I also one day want to make a cruise. I think it would be awesome to board a cruiseship and just go anywhere in the world across a big ocean. The destination for me is not even important, but just being aboard is experience enough for me.
  3. Well, I am still single, so I hope to one day get a girlfriend. I have no problems with being alone, but after all this time, it would be nice to have someone to share similar interests with.

If you could meet any three people, alive or dead, who would they be?

Here they are, again in no particular order:

  1. Summer Glau. She is my favorite actress, and you might know her from tv series such as Sarah Connor Chronicles, Arrow and Firefly. Honestly though I would probably be so nervous I could not say a thing, but would probably stand around like an idiot lol.
  2. Sylvester Stallone. He has made so many great action flicks that I grew up with, and at his age he still continues to impress. Also from what I have seen of him in real life, I think he is also very kind.
  3. Rodney Smith. This name might be unfamiliair to most of you, but he has a YouTube channel about Boardgaming. I did a post about boardgame channels once (you can find it Here) and he is just one of the nicest persons I have ever seen. His passion and commitment to the boardgame community is just truly awesome.

What would you do if you would win the lottery?

Lol, this is a fun question. Well, I guess I would buy a cool house, and complete at least two things on my bucketlist (see above). Also I would do something for charity, don’t know exactly what, but if you win such an amount of money, it would not be fair to keep it all to yourself 😀 Your life would change a lot I think, so I would probably have more time off, to do more awesome things like travelling, watching even more things than I already do (lol), and just make the most out of life.

My nominations

  1. Jordanandeddie
  2. Vinnieh
  3. Inklinginfornography
  4. Heyitszel
  5. Annmariemcqueen
  6. Weeabootaku
  7. Dominik
  8. Betweenfoldedpages

My questions

  1. If there was anything you could change about your favorite movie or novel, to make it even more perfect, what would it be?
  2. Name three topics that you haven’t written a post on yet, but might be planning sometime in the future.
  3. If you could arrange a debate between two people that you admire, who would they be, and why would you want to let them debate?

I’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award

I feel very happy today ( well even more so than other days lol), as I have been nominated today for the Sunshine Blogger Award. I just think it is very awesome that people take time to read my posts, give some comments on them, and even hand out an award. When I first started this blog almost six months ago, I would have never thought that I would like this so much. Part of what makes it great is you: my fellow bloggers, and everyone who takes the time to read some posts. I have had a lot of fun reading the posts on other blogs myself and it has really become a part of my life that I would not like to miss for one moment.

I want to very much thank the creators of Little Anime Blog , Elisabeth and Dominic for nominating me for this award. If you haven’t already, check out their blog. It is filled with all kinds of awesomeness on the world of Anime and beyond 😀 Once again, you both have my thanks!

And these are the answers to the questions I got asked….

What got you interested in blogging?

Honestly it was a bit of an experiment for me. I used to write small reviews on Facebook, but that was pretty limiting. As such I wanted to write bigger reviews, and that is how I got into blogging. I had no idea that I would grow to like it this much, and that it would become a part of my daily routine😀

What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell people?

That is a pretty tough question to answer, so I have been wracking my brain about it a bit. I would have to say, that even though sometimes I can mask it well enough, I can be a pretty shy person. But then if I had to tell people that I would probably be to shy to admit that lol.

What first got you interested in Anime and/or Manga?

In 1985 I saw an animated show called Robotech. It was made up of three different unrelated Anime series, and to date I am still a big fan of that show. When I became older and found out more about the origins of Robotech, I discovered there was a whole world out there filled with Japanese animated shows. And to this day, I am still discovering new and different Anime. Especially since I started blogging, I keep receiving new and wonderful tips for new series, on a variety of different blogs I follow, which is awesome 😀

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

To tell the truth: I am both. I don’t really have a time of day, I can be active both in the morning as well as in the evening. But then again, if I have an offday, that usually means that I am not an early bird or a night owl 😂 Luckily that does not happen very often.

Do you plan or wing your blog posts?

I don’t really have a plan in advance, but when I am watching a movie or series I am going to be reviewing I do try and think of some things I want to put in my post. Some posts are easier than others I have to admit. It pretty much depends on the subject matter as well.

If you could save three things from a fire in your home, what would they be? Ps, size, weight and quantity don’t matter.

Hmm….my box filled with original Robotech comics, my enormous dvd collection (hey, size, weight and quantity did not matter right?😀), my Star Wars collection.

Do you have any Anime merch? (This includes manga). If so, what was the first thing you bought?

If I don’t count Robotech (which technically is not Anime), I think the first thing I bought is the Asuna figure from Sword Art Online. And I did not even buy that years ago, but just recently. I still think it looks awesome though 😀

How open are you in the real world about your feelings towards Anime?

I very open about it. Honestly I pretty much live by the philosophy :” just accept me for who I am. And if you don’t like it, tough break 😀”. So yeah I don’t mind telling people that I like Anime, or any of my other hobbies for that matter. It is a great way to spend time, and there is nothing better than also sharing things about it.

Have you ever cosplayed or wanted to? If yes, what character and why that character?

I have never cosplayed, and I probably will not do that anytime in the future. I do think it is great that people do it, and I have big respect for the people who put time and effort into making their costumes, which quite frankly are sometimes completely awesome.

If money was not an issue, what is the one thing that you would do for yourself?

There is one thing on my bucketlist that I definitely want to do someday, and that is make a trip to an Asian country. I have always had the utmost respect for everything Asian, the customs, the history, myths, it is all so incredible, that I want to one day see it for myself. There is unfortunately, one thing I do have to conquer for that though, and that is my fear of flying. But oh well, I am sure I will manage one day 😀

What is your favorite post that you have written on your blog, and what is the most popular post on your blog?

My own favorite post, at least the one that was so far the most fun to write was : Special Features Presents: “To rewatch, or not to rewatch….?”. It was a very interactive post, and I had to think about the movies that I have watched way too many times. (And I still managed to forget a few important ones lol). As for the most popular post, it was a pretty recent one : Special Features Presents:Solo Boardgaming. This last post has gotten a lot of views after I posted it on the Google+ boardgame community, of which I was pretty surprised.

My nominations:

Thank you all for making such wonderful posts, which I enjoy reading every time that you post them. Keep up the great work you are all doing, and keep spreading the sunshine 😀

And now for the questions. As not every blog that I nominated deals with Anime exclusively (my own doesn’t either), I have tweaked the questions above a bit, and added a few new ones, so that everyone might be able to answer them. So, here they are, and ofcourse I look forward to your answers 😀
