Michels Anime/Book/Boardgame/Movie review Blog

 About me

Hello everybody, I am Michel from Holland, 44 years of age, and welcome to my blog! So who am I ? I used to be a very fanatical gamer, but those days are behind me. The gaming world was a very interesting one to visit, and definitely not one I would ever forget. However these days I am spending my time playing boardgames, mostly in a fantasy or sci-fi setting, reading novels, and watching a lot of tv shows, anime and movies. And that in a roundabout way takes me to this blog.

About this blog

I had been toying with the idea of creating a blog for a while. On my Facebook page I used to write a lot of movie reviews, in Dutch, and I had a lot of fun writing those. However, I wanted to do more, and that is how I came to writing a blog. This blog will concern itself mostly with writing reviews about movies, anime and tv shows, and as an added thought will occasionaly feature reviews about novels and boardgames. Now one thing that is very important to me to note, is that in no way do I ever want to force my opinion on anyone else. A movie experience is personal, and what works for one person, may not work for others. I love writing these reviews, and it features my personal take on a movie/tv series/anime/book or boardgame. Ofcourse everyone else is free to have another opinion on it, and I always will respect that.

The ratings system

I figured that a number rating system would be the best way to give a review, so here is what I came up with:

A 1 out of 10 score, only for people who want to complete a collection.

A 2 out of 10 score, pretty awful, but might be of interest to fans.

A 3 out of 10 score, still not very good, but might have some good moments.

A 4 out of 10 score, mweh, but has a couple of things going for it.

A 5 out of 10 score, not bad, but not very good either.Might be worth your time.

A 6 out of 10 score, pretty decent, but contains things that take the fun out of it.

A 7 out of 10 score, good, but certainly not living up to expectations.

A 8 out of 10 score, very good, and definitely worth your time.

A 9 out of 10 score, an absolutely fantastic experience, almost perfect.

A 10 out of 10 score, too good to be true, a perfect experience, complete classic.

Last words

Now, I am writing this blog in English, just so I can reach out to more people. As my native language is Dutch, there might be an occasional typo in the text. I hope you will forgive me for that 🙂 Everyone is ofcourse free to comment on any review I have given, and it will always be appreciated. (Unless for some reason you are being disrespectful, which will probably result in a somewhat less friendly response from me lol 😂). I hope anyone who reads these reviews will have fun reading them, as much as I have in writing them. Movies, anime and tv shows are such an incredible medium, and without them my life would definitely not be the same. I hope you will enjoy your time exploring this blog, and let me know what you think 😉

    1. Thank you very much, and thanks for following😀 I’ve just been looking around at your blog, and I really dig your blog too (to copy a phrase 😉 ). You have an enormous amount of posts 😮 But from I have seen so far, most of them are about shows/movies that I myself enjoy very much as well.Nice!

  1. For a first attempt at a blog you’re doing a pretty amazing job of look snazzy. There are a few games you’ve reviewed that I haven’t played so I am going to come back and give them a proper once over. I also have taken a bit of inspiration from your about page, so, thanks for that. if you have the time, I have a geek/gaming blog over on http://www.itsmorethanjustgaming.com (Careful about clicking my name, it is dumping people into now defunct blogs and my work website…)

      1. I hope I won’t disappoint. I try to post 3 times a week. Mostly gaming stuff but, well, you saw the Sky Lynx indulgence. Will shortly start incorporating other things geeky.
