One of the plus sides of having way too many hobbies is the fact that I am never bored. There is always something that I can do, whether it’s watching anime, going to the cinema to watch the latest movie, read a book, or play a boardgame. And that’s just the tip of the ice berg. But on the flipside of that is the fact that I am always behind on pretty much everything, especially when it comes down to watching televion series. People have often asked me how on Earth I can wait with something as good as Game of Thrones for instance. The answer is pretty much always the same. I have absolutely no idea. It brings me back to the opening sentence I guess: I just have way too many hobbies, and as such way too many things that I love to do. In this world of social media though, that really is becoming a bit of a problem. As much as you try to avoid things as spoilers, these days one only has to switch to something as simple as Youtube to find whole clips of pivotal moments of your favorite shows. Some even have bold capital letters proclaiming things like “ the death of so and so” or “ shocking scene of whatshername”. For some things I don’t mind spoilers, but when it comes down to Game of Thrones I have so far managed to avoid them.
Yes people, I have only now completed season 6 of Game of Thrones. I know, I should be flogged for committing such an atrocious act of negligence. I’m afraid to even admit it but I still have to start with the next one too. Yep, I know Winter is coming and all that. Be that as it may, I am of course not going to deprive you of my thoughts on this season. Even though they are two years late. Be warned this section does contain a few spoilers for the previous season , but as probably most of you have seen that one anyway, I don’t think there will be any real surprises here. But just to be on the safe side: *Spoilers Start* Jon Snow is dead. Well, really how could he not be right? Season 6 picks up right after the horrible moment when everybody’s favorite hero got stabbed multiple times and was killed. That was one heck of a shock ending last season, something this show always excells at any way. Season 6 is Jon’s season though, and then some. Erm, wait what do I mean by that? He’s dead right?
Well he was but by an act of magic by the Red Witch Melisandre, Jon is brought back from the dead to fight another day. As with every season of Game of Thrones, there are many things happening to all of our beloved (and sometimes hated) characters. Daenarys has been captured and is heading towards an uncertain fate. Tyrion tries to keep things together in the city of Mereen, where chaos seems to be ruling the day. Cersei has her own problems with her son Tommen, the King, who seems to be slowly turning against her. And then of course there is the ever present danger of the army of the dead, the unseen threat that marches ever onwards. But it’s Jon who is going to have the biggest challenges ahead of him. Especially when he has to try and retake Winterfell, from the horrific and sadistic Ramsay. Winter is coming alright….and it brings with a storm of epic proportions *Spoilers end*
Where previous seasons of Game of Thrones sometimes felt a bit slow, this season seemed like everything all of a sudden was put on some kind of speed trip. So many things happened this season that it’s hard to even know where to start. But that said, I think to date this might have been my favorite season. I have always thought of Game of Thrones being a show that comes the closest to a true cinematic experience. Everything from the sets, the lavish costumes, the special effects, all of those combined just leaves pretty much every other television series ever made biting in the dust. But let’s not forget one of the most important things that makes this show so highly enjoyable as well: the characters and the actors that portray them. Each season I am always astounded at pretty much all of the performances on this show, season 6 being no exception. You want highlights? Well, let’s say that episode 9 especially was maybe the most impressive episode of maybe the entire show. (Erm, keep in mind, I still have to watch season 7 lol).
But seriously though, that episode pretty much made my jaw drop to the proverbial floor. So many good and memorable scenes in that one single episode. Both in terms of action, but especially in terms of acting. As usual Game of Thrones isn’t shy to get rid of it’s cast members (seriously I would be scared to work as an actor on that show), and of course we get a few that kick the bucket in this season as well. The final episode of this season brings quite a few storylines to a close, as well as drawing battlelines and setting up things for season 7. So will I be waiting another two years to start on that one? Nope, not this time. In fact, I’m going to start on the next season this weekend. And even though I am not a Lannister I plan to keep my word on that. In closing, as if this wasn’t really clear yet: this season just rocked. I haven’t had a single episode where my mind drifted off, or I got bored in some way, which did happen occasionally in some of the previous seasons. If for some reason you have never watched this show, trust me check it out. It’s one of the best television shows ever made, and that is the total truth.
I give season 6 of Game of Thrones a 9 out of 10 score.
Well, I hope you don’t get flogged…I haven’t even watched the first episode! *readies anti-flogging shield just in case*

Lol 😂😂 Well…I think you will be safe (I haven’t been flogged so far either…(looks around scared just to be on the safe side😂)). But this is one that is definitely worth checking out 😊😊

OK, I was gonna read thuis post. But I stoppen at the spoiler alert. Well, I tried. But I probably read faster than my mind registrate what it’s reading.
I’ve not seen the series. Not at all. But I’m reading the books at the moment. And nooooooo Jon Snow is still alive! Ar least where I’m at in the books… But hack.. everyone dies so it’s not that much of a spoiler. But I stopper after that sentence immediately.
So.. Don’t be sad, you’re not the only ons with too many hobbies. Or as how I prefer to call it: having too les time in a day 😉
Too be honest, I’m doubting too watch the series after reading the books. Really it must be impossible too shoot the film like the bookstories are written. Although even of it’s mauve lacking a lot of details it must still be full of magnificent shots! Maybe you can convince me too see the series also…

Haha….well…all I can say to that is..don’t believe everything you read. Yes that is very cryptic, but in case of more spoiler alerts I purposefully wrote it like this lol 😂😂
I plan to read the books after the show wraps. Next year the last season will come, and I’m too far invested in it now, to start reading the books.
Lol…Oh I’m not sad. The only thing I’m sad about is that I wish there more hours in a day 😂😂
As for the series…Oh yes, you should definitely watch it. It has a 9.5 out of 10 score on IMDB after more than a million votes. I can’t say how it stands up to the books, but the series is amazing. One of the best tv shows ever made….and I’ve seen a lot of them as you know. So..yes, you should watch the show 😊😊

Love the Winds of Winter episode (the last one). The whole Sept of Baelor with Ceresi was great. Totally did not see the coming.

I completely agree. That was a twist that I didn’t see coming either. But that’s what this show pretty much excells at each time. Throwing twists in there that you hardly ever see coming 😊

Oh yeah. Most definitely. That’s what makes season six and seven of the show exciting as they go beyond the written books (so far written). Totally excited for the final season.

Pretty good series. Any of us who have been gaming since before the internet aren’t exactly caught up in the hype.
Some great acting in this show though. The Hound is my favorite.

Haha, yeah. I guess there is that 😂
The Hound is a great character. I have trouble picking my favorite, but I think after thinking about it, it’s probably Arya Stark. I like how tough she is 😊

She’s great too. Bron is good too.

I haven’t seen any of this show at all – not a single frame of it. In fact, up until recently, i thought it was called “Game of THORNS”… 😮

Haha…it could have been called that I guess. That would have been a great name too 😂😂
That said, it’s definitely a show worth checking out. One of television’s best offerings out there if I’m honest. This is one that I really highly recommend 😊

Michel, I skipped the review (which I am sure was good) as I have never seen Game of Thrones. I can’t access it on TV, so one of these days, I will buy the complete box set, and watch it all. If I live long enough. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Fair enough Pete 😊
It’s a show I don’t have access too either, so I have bought all the seasons on dvd myself as well😊 Next year Game of Thrones’s last season will air so in all likelyhood a boxed set for the entire show will be heading our way soon. I’m pretty sure that you will love this series. It really is amazing 😊😊

Talk about a coincidence as this comment popped up right after I finished the first episode of season 7 😊 I can’t wait to finish it, and yes after that: the wait, the wait alright 😂 It’s an amazing show, that’s for sure 😊😊 (And let’s hope it will be worth the wait, that final season 😊).

Please tell me what you think when done. Season 7 was the only season I thought was GOOD, but not GREAT. A little rushed.
Still, I can’t wait at all for the last premiere.
Or the next book, some day…….

I will definitely let you know once I have finished it 😊
It’s always difficult to maintain a high quality show through every season…there is bound to always come a bit of a slump at a certain point😊
We’ll see …and absolutely: I can’t wait for that either 😊

Game of Thrones is definitely my favorite tv series of all time and I just couldn’t agree more that this season was probably the best of them all.
I’ve watched season 7 (I woke early every day to watch it though I was sadly spoiled) and my advice is to binge watch or avoid some social media or GOT tags if possible. It def has a different feel to it than the other seasons because of the fewer episodes. It was kind of sped up for story purposes (and some people disliked that not me though) but it was still amazing.

It’s definitely one of the best television series ever made that is so true 😊
I just started with season 7 today (just finished the first episode a few minutes ago) and will in all likelyhood be finishing it somewhere next week (this week I sadly won’t be home much). But having just seen that opening episode I can only say that so far I’m enjoying it 😊 I definitely have avoided all spoilers when it comes to Game of Thrones, and so far I have succeeded in that 😊
Will let you know my thoughts on season 7 as soon as possible 😊

Although I am shocked you took this long to watch this, I won’t blame you either. I know how hard it is to have too many hobbies. 24 hours just doesn’t seem to be enough right? You are pretty much right about this season it really was exciting! Wait till you watch the 7th season though I think your jaw will literally drop to the floor. I think the biggest highlight this season was definitely the Hodor thing. I was in depression like the whole time. But even though you are a tiny bit late, I loved your post. I like the funny little captions and the ‘although I am not a Lannister, I will keep my wird’ thing 😂😂😂😂

Lol😂😂 Yeah, I was pretty shocked about that myself. I was browsing through my dvd collection and my eyes fell upon Game of Thrones and I was like “ Wait…how could I have not seen this lol 😂”
It really was terrific though…I wasn’t bored for a single second by it, and I’m currently halfway through episode number 2 for season 7. So far again I’m highly enjoying it 😊
Yeah, the Hodor thing….that was really sad…but at the same time amazing as well. i can’t believe the way they did that. It was awesome 😊 (the name thing I mean)
Haha…and thank you, I always try to add a bit of humor to the post whenever I can😊 Thank you as always for a great comment, and your kind words: always appreciate it, and I’m glad you enjoyed the post 😊

I really liked season 6, too. A lot of great things happen in that season. As for the Hodor thing, that broke my little heart. It was one of the saddest moments of the whole show for me 😦 I loved Hodor 🙂
Great review 🙂 Hope you enjoy season 7 😀

Lol…haha, well I think it would be good in keeping in spirit with the show, but yeah it might be slightly too drastic 😂😂
Yeah, the Hodor scene was definitely one of the saddest things of the entire series totally agree with you on that. Hodor really was a terrific character 😊
Thank you very much! I have already seen the first two episodes of season 7, and so far I’m enjoying it! 😊

If it makes you feel any better Michel, I’ve only watched the first season. With a series like this it’s difficult to find the time to binge watch, especially if you don’t have HBO. I have read all the books though!☺️

Yeah: that’s the same with me. I don’t have HBO either so I always have to wait for the dvd releases. I finally got caught up again though: and now have 5 more episodes to go😊
As for the books: I do plan to read them but as I am now so invested in the show I first want to finish that before moving on to the books😊

The days when I would be bored are long gone. I think the internet played a big part in fixing that. Also when you are an adult you can afford to purchase all the entertainment you want.
I am just like Krystalina, in that I have not watched a single episode of GOT. Guess I will wait for the final season to air and then marathon it, to see what all the fuss was about.

Haha: bored is definitely not on the agenda any more for me either. Time however is always on the agenda unfortunately lol (or lack thereof I should say 😂😂).
This series will end next year so that marathon watch is pretty close😊 I’m not one to usually go with hype but in this case I have to say that it’s definitely worth the hype. Certainly one of the best tv shows ever made. Hope you will enjoy it when you get around to it😉

That’s honestly amazing that you managed to avoid spoilers- I think I’ll need tips (for me, if I miss an episode, I get spoilt really quickly). I loved Jon Snow’s story arc in season 6- it was so exciting (and possibly the best part of that season). Season 6 was one of my favourite seasons, even though it was sped up (though not the most sped up). It was definitely the most cinematic and episode 9 was possibly my favourite ever episode. This is definitely one of the best tv shows ever made! Amazing review- I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on season 7!

Haha, the tip is: just turn your head away the moment you see something that has Game of Thrones mentioned on it on all social media things: both facebook and especially youtube lol 😂😂So far that worked out 😂😂
Yeah Jon Snow’s arc really was great this season. Even though everything did feel a bit sped up, it didn’t really bother me much. I really enjoyed it, and episode 9 pretty much didn’t even feel like a tv episode any more. It was absolutely amazing.
Thank you so much for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the review. I will be a bit busy this week, so won’t be around much, but I will be back next week, and hopefully be able to finish season 7 then 😊😊

AAAAHHHHH GOT!!! You’ve reviewed it ❤ ❤ Nevermind that you're behind on the series, I still love that you've posted about it ^^
I'm not sure what my favourite season was so far… I suspect each one comes to top the other, but each is so unique and perfect in its own way it's hard to pick just ONE.
Honestly, all the big reveals just leave me floored every time… It's like I can never be surprised enough! I loved season 6's developments, that's for sure, but I think season 7 will totally destroy you, like it destroyed me. Man, that ENDING.
Please watch it ASAP, you deserve to be happy!!
Also, amazing review as usual 😀 😊

Well, I’m almost caught up fully now. I have one more episode to go with season 7 (which I will probably see tonight) and then I’m finally fully caught up (it took me a while, but hey, finally I’m there 😊😊)
Lol…yeah a lot of people keep telling me the ending is truly horrible for season 7 (as in good, but will totally destroy me as you said lol 😂)
I will see it, and let everyone know my thoughts on it later😊 Thanks for the kind words as always 😊 I loved the show…next to the walking dead it’s my absolute favorite all time tv show 😊😊

I actually can’t stomach TWD… Even though I can GOT? Hahaha I know, crazy, but I just hate zombies so that’s probably why (not so much the gore, which I can get used to after a while – but will probably have a hard time with in the next season after so long without it xD)

I have to applaud for your abilities to avoid spoilers regarding this show in particular. I don’t know how you do it. I wouldn’t even dare being late on a single minute of the show. 😛 But I’m glad you got around to watching it and that you enjoyed it a lot too. The latest season will be an interesting one and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. But hurry up! April 2019 is approaching and that one is sure to have some huge moments without a doubt! 😀 Great review as always! 😉

Haha…well, I made it, as I watched the final episode last evening. And after having seen it, I was pretty devestated. Seriously this is torture…making us wait so long after an ending like that?? Really…ugh… 😂😂
It was very hard to avoid the spoilers, but I ended up succeeding. With the Walking Dead though…not so much. That was way harder to avoid 😊
But this has really been an amazing series. Let’s hope the final season will bring the series to a satisfying close 😊😊
