When I came back from my hiatus, now almost two months ago, I had not expected at the time that it would be something permanent. Even the title of that post said it all: Guess who is back? (Well, sort of anyway). With my health at times very fragile at best and my dayjob keeping me very busy, the only reason that I came back at all was that I had a three week vacation. That said my return to blogging was something that I was really enjoying immensely. Not only with writing posts, but also getting back in touch with everyone. When I returned to work, I adjusted my blogging schedule to about 3-4 posts a week, and well guess what? I’m still here. There are two very good reasons for this though. One is the fact that because of the horrible Covid 19 virus I’m working from home. That means no travel time at all, and that means more free time. The second, and much more important reason is that new medication I’ve received seems to be having a positive effect on my stomache. I’m cautiously optimistic as I have had this happen to me quite a few times right now in the past, but hey at the moment I’m taking it! And that means that I’m planning on sticking around some more, and have made some plans for the upcoming months!
Plans? What plans?
We are nearing Halloween, and that means my series of countdown posts is slowly moving towards it’s inevitable end. I had a really fun time with it, but I’m sad as well to know that the final part of that series is coming up pretty soon. However this also means that I have to find something to replace it with, as this has become a regular series of posts that has been released every saturday for the past couple of weeks. And for that I am reaching back in the past of my blog and am re-introducing the theme months a feature that was a part of my blog way back in 2018. Unfortunately it was in that year that my health problems began, and that feature eventually died down. Nothing like the present though, as starting next month I’m bringing it back!
What in the blue blazes are Theme Months?
As many of you know my blog deals with an enormous amount of topics, reflecting my (admittedly way too many) hobbies. Anime, movies, books, manga, Korean drama series, regular tv shows, comics, the list goes on and on. In a theme month I will be featuring a little bit more reviews focussed on one particular theme, next to all the regular stuff. Starting next month, every saturday I will have a review that deals with the topic chosen for a particular month. Next to my own choices, there will also be a reader’s choice in the last weekend of the month. How exactly that will work, I will reveal next month. Hey, gotta keep some secrets right? Now I thought it would at least be a fun idea to show you what the first three theme months will be featuring. So let’s check it out!
November: Anime Month
I figured why not start big right? Yes in November I will be reviewing anime. As to exactly which shows (or movies) I’m going to be showcasing in November I haven’t yet decided. There are a few things that I’ve been wanting to watch and that have been on my to watch list for ages. One could almost say I have to many choices, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Either way you won’t have to wait long, as on the 1st of November I will let you all know which things I have picked!
December: Sci-Fi Month
Well, no surprise there, you all know the love I have for all things science fiction! In sci-fi month I’m going to be reviewing some science fiction films, as well as a classic and highly underrated science fictions series: Space Above and Beyond. Probably a show that most of you might not be familiar with, but it’s a real gem that was sadly cancelled way before it’s time. As to which movies I will be featuring, that’s going to be a surprise for both you and me! But as it’s a genre that has loads to offer, I’m pretty much convinced I will think of something!
January: Korean Month
Kicking off the new year, Korean month means that I will be focussing my reviews on both Korean dramas and movies. There are two upcoming new shows that I’m very excited about, and I can’t wait to get started on them. That said, I also still have a few Korean movies in my dvd collection that have been gathering dust on the shelves for quite a while now. This month is still pretty far away though, so there is still plenty of time for me to decide what to watch then!
So…..
As mentioned, no worries if a theme doesn’t appeal to you. Even though the focus during a theme month is on that particular topic, it doesn’t mean all my posts will be dealing with that. I’m always trying to balance things out evenly to make sure there is something to read for all of you. Well, at least I hope so anyways! Next to all this, I hope to make some new installments of Raist’s Collection , Retro Raist , and VS. We’ll see how things go. For now though, this is me signing off. I hope to see you soon at the next post, and as always, thank you for reading!
Good to have you back. I agree, it’s hard trying to fit time to write but I miss it when I’m not doing it. Lots of good stuff coming up then.

Thanks so much! 😀 It really is a lot of fun to be back, and I don’t think I could every completely quit either. But now that I have a little more time on my hands I do want to try and write whatever I can😀 Thanks as always for the support, and certainly will do my best to bring some fun stuff!😀

It’s definitely something I’m very glad for. I’m cautiously optimistic, as I have had periods like this before and it all went down hill again. But well, fingers crossed that it won’t😊
Looking forward to it myself, and the things that I still have to decide what to watch! 😀😀

I am, of course, very intrigued about anime month, but Space Above and Beyond is a massive win. Such an underrated series and I am so sad that it only got one season. I am glad that I found it randomly somewhere on DVD though.

Haha, well I have some fun stuff coming up for anime month (one of these is a kind of weird but massively cool show that someone named Scott recommended to me….🤔🤔🤔)
So cool to hear about Space Above and Beyond though! I could not agree more, it really is highly underrated, and I probably think I have that some boxed set: as that’s how I’m going to (re)watch it too:dvd 😀

We seem to have some very similar dvd sets 🙂

Themed months sound amazing. I was going to try to do that starting with October but surgery kind of blew that away haha. I’m also such a moody consumer of media (like my mood for one thing or another changes drastically from hour to hour) so sticking to themes can be difficult. I’m looking forward to your themed months. I know my watchlists for things is probably going to grow like a weed haha.

Haha, thank you so much!😀😀 Well…my watchlist and readlist have definitely grown from your’s as well…so guess it’s time for a little bit of payback 😂😂
Seriously though, you are right, it can be difficult. Like you I’m also a very moody consumer of media…so I can be in the mood for something only to have that change again in a day or so. But…I’m guessing I can stick to this, as most of the themes are all fun anyways! I hope you will enjoy the upcoming posts, and I hope your lists won’t explode too much haha😂

Psst. Mention that book review for that author you like. *cough*cough*
Man, what was that? That was weird. Some guy pandering for attention or something. I dunno what that was about.
Okay, joking aside, it is awesome that you are feeling better and hopefully this medication takes and gives you the comfort you need and deserve. I’m looking forward to all of this, and I’m gonna try to actually keep up for a change.
Being a famous author has it’s burdens, ya know. I don’t, but I’m sure they exist.

🤔🤔🤔 You are asking me? The guy with two brains inside one. Fistandantilus keeps bugging me every day, so you can’t expect me to keep track of other voices either…that’s just asking the impossible you know?🤔🤔🤔
Pssh…..and you don’t think I’m going to push knowledge of that into a small post like this right? You have to think big man! Also….you should know that I always plan ahead, so don’t you think I haven’t already gotten something else planned? Jeezzz….I’m doing a lot of thinking right?🤔🤔😂😂😂
Seriously though: thanks! I’m hoping the same, though of there is one thing I have learned with this very annoying stomache of mine is that it really does seem to have a mind of it’s own. Things do look better for a change though, so for now I’m going to enjoy it for what it is😊
I will do my best to entertain….have a lot of writing still to do on this, (also a lot of watching lol😂😂😂) but eh it’s all fun, so that’s good😂😂😂
Pssh….burdens? What are those? Do things like that exist? I don’t know…but you being a famous author should know the answer to that right? 🤔🤔😂😂

Glad you’ve been able to keep this going and I’m looking forward to seeing what else you have in store. I’m hoping to reminisce about some anime/movies/shows we’ve both enjoyed and to learn about many new to me. And then there will be some like Space Above and Beyond, where I know I’ve watched it but my memory is so foggy you’ll have to work hard to jog whatever memories I have. 😀 Here’s to continued good health!

Thank you so much for the very kind words, I appreciate it😀 I definitely have some things planned, and a few ideas already in my head. But there are also still a couple of things I need to work out and see how to make them work, haha😂 As for Space Above and Beyond: I have to jog my memory for it myself as well, as I have the thing on dvd🤔😊 But it will be a fun trip down memorylane!😀

Glad to hear about your health getting better with the new medication. I do hope it continues to work so well for you and that you’ll continue to do what you want to do without being hindered by your health. You still gotta take care of yourselves first though! 😉 Cool idea for the upcoming months though. I’m surprised you didn’t already start a countdown for Christmas thing in October or something!!! 😛

Thanks so much Lashaan! I’m pretty happy about it myself, and I’m cautiously optimistic that it will continue to stay like this. I’m certainly still cautious and take as much rest as I can😀
Haha…a countdown to Christmas could be fun too! Maybe I will do that next year!😂😂😂 That’s actually a pretty fun idea!🤔🤔😂😂😂

Looking forward to your themes. Do you think you’ll do any manwha for Korean month or is that too close to manga for your to differentiate them?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Thanks! I’m looking forward to it myself! As for manwha, good question really. I don’t have any manwha in my current collection🤔🤔 Might have to try and find some before then…no promises, but I’ll see what I can do😀

I am so looking forward to your review! My wife and I loved that show.

Thank so much!😀 It’s definitely a show that I have very fond memories of myself, and I can’t wait to start the rewatch. I have the entire show on dvd, and I’m still sad about the fact that it got cancelled after only one season. One of those things that can’t be explained I guess😔

It was on Fox. The logic they used was:
If (popular)
{
cancel();
}
I mean, look at Firefly!

Yepp…that’s definitely the logic that Fox uses. Ugh…don’t even get me started on Firefly! That was the dumbest decision that they have ever taken😢😢

I’ll read anything you write honestly. This is one of very few blogs that give Asian films the spotlight, which is really cool. 🙂 Also, I’m big on scifi, so December’s going to be extra fun!

Aww, thanks this comment just made my day! 😀😀
I have always loved Asian cinema ever since seeing the first dvd that I bought which wasn’t even a truly great film, but still well worth the watch: Musa the Warrior. Since then my Asian dvd collection has grown way out of proportion lol 😂
Sci fi is certainly one of my favorite genres too, and I can’t wait to decide what to watch during that month haha😀😀

Great plans! I have been considering theme months myself but in a bit of a different way.
Like I do anime and games and such combined so I am thinking that it might be fun to do themes for all months, new banners and a new look to the blog each month.. but I found it really makes it easy to come up with content like that.
More in the lines of themes like Space, Tropical Island & Pirates, Detective Stuff.. etc.
But yeah it is really nice to have a bit of content focus! I look forward to your anime month of course! I don’t like Fire Force but still looking forward to it!
Yay for the medicine working properly for now! Good working medicine is the best medicine…next to laughter and love maybe!

Yeah I’ve been thinking of ways to bring a bit of structure to my blogging habbits, especially as I have so many topics, and this worked pretty well in the past, so I figured why not try it again😀
I like your idea as well, but honestly though: your blog already has one heck of a great look!
We’ll see how this goes! As for Fire Force, I don’t know if that one will be featured. It’s on my list but if I’m going to watch it for this month…no idea yet 😀😀
Thanks! I’m pretty glad that at least for now it seems to be working, and I hope it will continue. Honestly I think both laughter and love are probably even better medicines. Short on one though, but pretty good on the other! 😀

Thanks for the very kind words man. The meds are well…sometimes working, sometimes not. It’s a fact I will have to live with I’m afraid, but well, I’m an optimist, and I will always keep smiling no matter what 😀
