I remember saying in 2019 at the very end of that year: “ Well, at least 2020 can’t get any worse right?” Note to self, never, ever say anything like that ever again. For really, what an incredibly FUBAR year this has turned out to be. (And if you don’t know what FUBAR stands for just google it, I will wait for you to return). What I am not going to do in this post is make it depressing. This year has already had enough of that, and I think we can all use a bit of happy thoughts right now. I know I sure can do with some of those thoughts myself. That said, suffice it to say, I have had a lot of things happening to me over the past few months, none of them good, and let’s leave it at that. I am still not doing well, but as I have a vacation coming up in a week, I wanted to try and publish a few posts I had already written before my long hiatus started. And maybe even write a few new ones. I have been off WordPress for a very, very long time, so honestly I have no clue as to how everyone is doing. More on that down below though. Anyways, what to expect these upcoming weeks? Let’s go and explore…..

Anime

Some classic shows are up for a long overdue review (yes I know that rimes)

As always happens when things aren’t going well in my life, one of the first things to get dropped is Anime. Don’t ask me why, I have no clue. My already huge backlog of anime shows has only grown even larger over the past few weeks, so don’t even get me started on how long it is. Before I went off on my hiatus, I had already two posts completed on shows that I finished. One of them is a highly anticipated review for the first season of March Comes in like a Lion. The other is for another first season of the fan favorite show: Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a Dungeon. Both of these are headed your way soon. Completing the list is one of my own favorite shows: the original Macross series. Yes, that’s an old one, I know, but still a very good and worthwhile show. Anything else? Well…maybe, but more on that below.

Movies

Yes, that’s a lot of sci-fi stuff indeed.

As always movies are still a part of this blog, and the reviews that were already written before I took my leave of absence are all in the same genre: science fiction. In no particular order they are Bumblebee, Alita Battle Angel, and The Predator. So were they any good? Well, I will let you know as soon as I publish those reviews. Will I stick to just these three movies? Erm….no. There is a Korean movie I recently saw on Netflix called Time to Hunt, and without spoiling too much it was absolutely amazing. So expect a review for that one as well.

Books

Yes, I read a lot of different genres!

Nothing like a little reading to take your mind of things. So I have three reviews for three books that could not be more different from each other. The horror manga Uzumaki is a straight decent into hell, although hell might be a pleasant place when compared to the things that are happening in this book. Robotech the Visual Archive is an art book from one of my favorite animated series ever: Robotech. Last but not least is the Warhammer fantasy novel Drachenfels, which tells quite a unique story with an unlikely heroine.

Tv series

Amazon is definitely a streaming service you need in your life!

While Netflix is of course a very popular streaming service, a lot of people (myself included) are discovering Amazon Prime as well, and rightfully so. Just like Netflix they have their own original series and movies, and one of those is in my opinion one of the most underrated tv series of this moment: Bosch. I will tell you more about it in the post I’m preparing for it. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is now on it’s last season and I’m looking back on one of it’s best seasons: season 4. Last but not least is another Amazon series that I’m looking forward to seeing: The Head. This 6 part miniseries looks to be interesting indeed, reminding me a bit of The Thing due to it’s setting.

Boardgames

What better to do in a lockdown then play some games?

In these strange times it’s nice to be able to sit down and play some fun games every once in a while. With the way things are going though it can be hard to find players, so the games I’m reviewing all have a solo option. You can expect reviews for the fun, back to the 80’s cardgame of The Goonies and a push your luck dice game in the Cyberpunk world of Shadowrun. Last but certainly not least we are travelling through time to prevent a world wide tragedy in Time Stories Revolution: The Hadal Project.

So….what else?

Over to….you!

As I said in the beginning of this post, I have no idea what everyone has been up to. All I know is that I missed you all a lot, and I hope everyone is doing well in this very strange year. Please provide me with some comments if you can to let me know how things are going with you. If there are any posts of yourself you would like me to check out, also point them out in the comments. As I mentioned in the anime section, I have been out of touch with anime for quite a while. So if you have any recommendations for me, don’t hesitate to point them out to me. If I can I will check them out in my vacation, and write a review for it linking back to your blog. I hope to at least provide you with some entertaining content in the upcoming four weeks. What happens after that I can’t really say, but if I can I want to try and post at least each week, but honestly no promises. For now it’s great to be back, even though it might be for a short while. Thanks for reading everyone, and let’s talk in the comments section!
