Hello everyone. Now this is a bit of an unusual post, but I have a question and a request at the same time. As of this morning I have been experiencing problems with giving comments on posts that I enjoyed reading. At first I thought it was just going into a moderation status, but the comments just seem to disappear into thin air. On some posts I even tried multiple times to place a comment, but every time it just vanishes after I press sent. So, my question is: ” Is anyone else experiencing these problems? “. So far I have succeeded on placing exactly one comment for a post for the entire day, which is seriously getting annoying.
The request I have is could you perhaps check your spamfilters if maybe any comments from me got lost in there? I certainly haven’t commented on every post from today, but I did do so on quite a few. I’m really sorry to be bothering you with this, but if there is one thing I like about blogging it is interacting with everyone. I have no idea what exactly is going on here, or if it’s maybe an error on the WordPress servers or something like that. Whatever it is, it is really annoying. Thanks in advance for checking, and of course let me know in the comments section (if that works that is), if maybe you have ever had a problem similar to this and if there is a solution for it.
OrangutanLibrarian had a similar problem and it turned out to have something to do with Akismet and her having all her comments become auto-spam.
Check with her to see what she had to do to get it fixed.

Thanks for the advice. It’s not a blog that I am currently following, but I will add her right now. Thank you 😊

I had this problem but it just seemed to go away on it’s own. And only seemed to manifest on my phone. The downside was that a fair few posts I wanted to comment on never got commented on.

It is really annoying. I gave a comment on your post for Critical Failures, and it has disappeared. I tried posting it several times, but it just disappears each time. It’s seriously weird. I really hope this gets solved very quickly.

This happens to me periodically, normally when my internet connection is a bit on and off and WordPress for some reason assumes I am a spam bot. Usually it sorts itself by the next day but the one day I contacted them for help, they suggested I must be using offensive language in my comments and kind of just refused to admit that their program was buggy. I don’t bother asking for help anymore and just send out a tweet letting people know that my comment may have ended up in spam. Some of them get found and some probably just disappear forever.
Hopefully it will sort itself for you soon.

Now, I don’t wish to alarm you, but just letting you know that this comment, and the one for Castlevania just ended up in my spamfilter. And no, I really wish I was making a joke here. I thought it a bit strange to not see a comment for the Castlevania post and that’s why I decided to check my spamfilter, which is where I found this comment and the other one. Really hope the problem will sort itself out for you soon as well. For me it sees to be working again since early this morning. It must be some weird weekend bug or something. Or as Cain said, it might be a glitch in the Matrix 😊 Hopefully it was just an incident for you and you haven’t experienced any other problems.

Nah, this happened most of the weekend. I did put up a tweet, I think Friday night, or maybe Saturday, about it, but my internet has been glitching in and out and so I know the majority of comments I made on posts over the weekend probably ended up in people’s spam. Hopefully people occasionally check their spam.

Yeah, I do check my spamfilter every week or so, but this weekend I have heard numerous complaints about WordPress not working properly. Hopefully things will get back to normal again real soon 😊

Nothing in my spam filter, but lots of spam. Certainly not anything from you. May be either a massive lag, or just a glitch in The Matrix.

Well, I hope thos glitch in The Matrix will solve itself very quickly. Thank you for checking and responding though, appreciate it 😊 I really don’t understand what this is, never had a problem like this before on WordPress.

Thats weird. So far I havent had any problems with wordpress. Except sometimes with the app. Never anything with comments or likes though. Hopefully it was just a weird server issue that’ll clear up on its own.

I’ve never had any problems either up until yesterday. One of the blogs I follow just said that my comments did end up in the spam filter. So apparently there is something weird going on. I have already contracted WordPress.com itself. I hope the issue can be resolved soon, as this is very annoying to put it mildly 😔 Thanks for your comment 😊

Last time I received a comment from you was on 4th Sept (Event Horizon stuff). Nothing in the spam folder!

Thanks for checking abd commenting. I already heard back from an other blog that 3 comments of mind did end up in the spam filter. So apperently this is some kind if weird technical issue. Thanks for your response 😊

I think this happened to me long time ago. I had comments but they weren’t appearing. Maybe it’s a technical error.

You’re welcome :). That happened to me before. I commented at a blog before and I saw that my messages disappear. It is very annoying when the system thinks it’s spam.

I just posted a new comment on another blog, and it did not disappear on me, so hopefully the issue is resolved. It’s ine if the best things about blogging I think, so I would really hate it if I were not able to do so anymore 😊

I agree. It’s nice to comment and share some input at another’s work. It sounds like they fixed it but now I am going to make sure all my comments get read. 🙂

If it doesn’t resolve on its own within a day or so, you can also get help from the wordpress support forum. Volunteers can offer help suggestions or a moderator can give it a look.

I used to have that problem years ago….. my comments went automatically to Spam, so I had to inform the bloggers about this problem….. that is, only if they commented on my own blogsite.

This happened to me as well Michel. After a couple of weeks of hoping the issue would resolve on its own, I finally contacted Akismet, and it took them another couple of weeks to fix what ever was wrong. I hope yours doesn’t take as long. In the meantime I’ll keep checking my spam folder.💁🏻

It really is very annoying. If there is one thing I like about blogging it’s interacting, and at the moment this is pretty impossible like this. I think Vinnieh had the same problem a few weeks bsck as well. I hope it gets resolved soon, and thanks so much for your comment 😊

It seems to happen to a lot of bloggers. It’s definitely aggravating.😠

Yeah, it really is annoying. I usually never have any big problems with WordPress, but this was a pretty big issue. Luckily everything seems to be up and running again 😀

This never happened in my end.I hope it won’t… And I hope this problem can be resolve soon!!! I hope it’s just a minor glitch and would be back to normal in no time.

I hope so too, I just love leaving comments and interacting with people. It’s one of the best things about blogging. Apparently my comments immediately end up in the spam filter, as one if the blogs that I follow just found three of my comments there. Thanks for your response 😊

I know I’ve have trouble with legit commentors being marked as spam by Akismet, so I stopped using it. My guess is somehow the IP address you normally (always?) use was also used by spammers, and so your comments ended up in the spam database.
Otherwise, perhaps it had to do with too many comments in a short period of time? I think that sets off bells even when what you type is very different on all the blogs. Hope you get your issue resolved!

It’s the first issue apparently. I just got a response from one of the blogs that I follow that 3 of my comments were found in the soa, filter. Really weird, I have never had this problem before. I’m going to see how I can resolve this as quickly as possible. Thanks so much for your comment and response 😊

This happened to me once, but thankfully it sorted itself out after one day. Sorry that I can’t provide you with a fix. Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes cookies can cause weird things to happen.

I think the problem has been resolved as I left a few comments earlier this morning (it’s morning here for me in Holland anyway lol), and they did not disappear. I did recieve a comment from another blogger that told me three of my comments ended up in her spamfilter which she recovered. I commented yesterday on your Deathnote review, so I think my comment will probably be in your spamfilter too. Never had this problem before, but I think it’s thankfully resolved now (knock on wood). Thanks for your response 😊

Thanks, I think it has. As of this morning I can post comments again (and they are not disappearing any more). I have had two bloggers already that found comments of me in the spamfilter. Really weird, but oh well, guess that’s technology for you 😊 Thanks for your response 😀

I was writing a post yesterday, and every time I checked my spelling, updated or published WordPress was very sluggish to react. It either needed a electronic enema. or has iron poor blood.,

There are certainly things that are not going well this weekend on WordPress. The comments issue for me has now been resolved (since this morning everything seems to be working again), but one of my blogging friends who actually responded to this post, now had two comments of her disappear in my own spam filter. It’s definitely in need of a reboot I think. Or as someone else said commenting on this post: it could he a glitch in The Matrix lol 😂

I check my spam folder and luckily your not in there 🙂 Unfortunately, the comments from other bloggers that I like, have ended up in there and I never marked them as spam. So this must be a recurring problem with wordpress. Hope it works for you soon. 🙂

Luckily things for me are back to normal, but I just checked my own spamfilter and also rescued two comments that aren’t spam from getting destroyed. It has really been a weird weekend. I have heard a lot of complaints and things that went wrong on WordPress this weekend 😔

Luckily it defintely seems to be working again, which I’m very glad for. One of the most fun things about blogging, as I’ve mentioned, is exchanging thoughts about posts. If I were not be able to do that anymore, I would really miss it. But it’s okay again now, so life returns to normal lol 😂

There’s a spam filter on WordPress? How do you find it?
LikeLiked by 1 person
You can find the spamfilter in your WordPress menu. Just head to the comments section, click on that, and you should see the comments that are flagged as spam right above the page 😊
